We can support your child's development
We at Physio 4 Kids Glasgow believe that if you have concerns about the way your child is moving or developing you should be able to access specialist guidance and input from physiotherapists with extensive experience, knowledge, and expertise in the field of paediatrics.
- Is your child's development different or delayed?
- Would you like reassurance or guidance on how best to work with your child?
- Do you want to start hands-on therapy straight away?
We aim to work with you to provide assessment, hands-on therapy and give guidance on how you can encourage your child to reach their full potential.
Who We Are.
We are Kirsten Lyons and Lara McLachlan, and each have over thirty years of experience working in Paediatrics. We are friends and colleagues having met and worked together in the Neurology Department at Yorkhill Hospital. Our clinical experience in both NHS and Private sectors has allowed us to establish strong multidisciplinary connections with our colleagues in both areas, working in tandem in a supportive and collaborative manner.

Kirsten
Kirsten has extensive experience of working in both NHS and the private sector, working with children of all ages and abilities.
She has a specialist interest in working with the under 2s due to her 22 years' work in neonates. During this time she championed early intervention, and was integral to the development and coordination of the follow-up clinics.
Kirsten has also lectured internationally on physio intervention in neonates and is currently a consultant for a neonatal positioning system.
Lara
Lara has worked in paediatric physio for thirty years. She has experience working in hospitals, homes, nurseries, and schools with children who have a range of diagnoses. She set up and ran her own paediatric physio clinic in Ireland for 11 years. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over this time and has taken numerous specialist courses such as Bobath , Lois Bly, SI & NDT blending, and Halliwick and AquaEpps hydrotherapy approaches. She has a special interest in providing hydrotherapy sessions.
Our Approach
Our aim - partnership
We will work together to help you gain a clear understanding of the challenges your child is experiencing and how best these be addressed. Positive changes happen when key activities are carried out with your child repeatedly during daily life and play. This makes the most of every opportunity to encourage and enhance development.
Our therapy sessions can take place in your home, at nursery or in your child's school. This flexible approach ensures that therapy is delivered in an environment best suited to their needs
What to expect
- Full expert assessment carried out with feedback and discussion.
- Where appropriate a report and advice can be provided.
- We will agree the frequency of input with you. We can offer intermittent supervision, blocks of input or intensive therapy, with an agreed start and end date.
- Following a block of input, there will be an assessment of your child's progress, and an ongoing plan will be discussed.
- If you have an NHS therapist already involved, then we aim to work collaboratively alongside them.
